Leslie was fortunate to work with a very experienced real estate agent when she purchased her first home. That agent referred her to a mortgage broker who made her first mortgage experience an easy (and educational) one.
It wasn’t until she started speaking with her friends and family that she realized not everyone had a similar story. Many of her friends who were just starting out and ready to purchase their first home had no idea about rates, variable versus fixed mortgages or any penalties they would be subject to if they had to break their mortgage. They had simply gone into a bank, been told what was available and signed on the dotted line.
Years later, after selling her own business, the desire to help people was still strong. With her success in building and running her own profitable business, Leslie decided to pursue her mortgage license. Being self-employed for over seven years, she experienced first-hand the challenges it presented when obtaining a mortgage. Leslie has made it her mission to help other self-employed people realize their financial goals and make their mortgage experience a positive one.
Being a natural “joiner” and wanting to give back to her community, Leslie serves as a Director on the executive board of the Brooklin Optimist Club and enjoys being a part of the various youth centric events the club manages.
In her free time you’ll find her and her family elbow deep in their veggie garden or surrounded by chickens in the coop as they embrace their new “rural life” in Ashburn.
